Forum: classic_tv Subject: Would it be OK to use an "official" release of a public domain TV series as a source for uploads?

There's this popular public domain television series from the 1950s called "The Goldbergs". Within the next few weeks, I plan to buy a copy of the "official" DVD release of the series. Would it be OK if I used the DVD as a source for uploads of episodes from the 1954 season? Not the episodes from other years, just the 1954 episodes since they aired on DuMont Network which makes them rarer (it's a long story), although if it is OK to upload them and there is any demand for it, I might upload the 1949-1953 episodes as well.

I don't know if this is worth noting or not, but the prints for the DVD were sourced from various television achives, as opposed to the networks themselves (For the record, DuMont ceased broadcasting in 1956, and their programming archive was disposed of afterwards, which is why the surviving episodes from the short time the show spent on the network are considered "rarer" than the others).

(it seems the 1955-1956 episodes were submitted for copyright in 1985, but the 1949-1954 episodes were not).

The DVD "dealer" in my country couldn't order the DVD set, so it would be awsome if you could upload the live shows.
I have downloaded and listened to all of the 200+ OTR broadcasts (1941/42) of "The Goldbergs" here on IA and would love to see Molly on "live" television, be it DuMont, CBS or NBC.

Glad to know there is interest...

...I've been wanting to get into Old Time Radio, but can never seem to find the time to get into it (I have too many hobbies and not enough time).
